Driver's License Scanning program for VisionMobile
dlsvm.exe (see instructions at the bottom of this page) will scan data from Civil Process Papers, Residence Verifications and Driver's Licenses into various programs. The instructions below may seem long and complicated but the process is pretty simple.
Be sure you don't have a ticket open in E-Ticket (you can have E-Ticket running, just don't have a ticket open), and be sure Aries is not on a screen where you scan scan data (again, Aries can be open)
VisionMobile
- Call data
- If you are on a call and need to enter a subject's information, you can go to the Subjects button in the call screen and click in the OLS field at the top right corner of the screen. Clicking in the OLS field before scanning is important - I have seen the program crash VisionMobile if you don't do this. You can then scan their driver's license and it will ask if you want to enter the OLS/OLN, then it will ask if you want to enter the rest of the data.
- Typically, if you will answer "No" to the first question, then "Yes" to the second question. You can then press Xmit to save that person in the call, then click NCIC or Both to get a return on them.
- If it is an out of state license you would want to scan the license again and answer "Yes" to the first question and "No" to the second question, then Xmit and press NCIC to see if they have a valid license.
- Typically when you are done getting their return you are going to want to scan their license and answer "Yes" to both questions, so all their information gets saved in the call. If you save all their information in the call and attempt to run them you will get an error.
- You can do the same thing with a vehicle registration (at least an Indiana vehicle registration).
- When you re-scan someone or you scan a registration for a vehicle that is already in the call, make sure the appropriate entry is selected so you don't create duplicate entries in the call.
- The data can also be used to fill out an arrest sheet:
- First, fill in any information in the Subject field that the driver's license did not scan
- Go to the Active Calls screen
- Click on your call
- Scroll down to the people involved section
- Click on the Arrest Sheet link next to your person
- The data can also be used to fill out a trespass order:
- First, fill in any information in the Subject field that the driver's license did not scan
- For each person in the call, select Suspect or Victim
- Go to the Active Calls screen
- Click on your call
- Scroll down to the bottom of the screen
- Click on the Trespass Orders link
- This data is also what shows up in the initial screen of an FBR report
- Civil Process/Residence Verifications/Warrants
- Click on Field Stop
- Scan the barcode on the purple sheet for the civil process paper or at the bottom of the Residence Verification Form
- If you scanned a warrant from a a web page and the VisionMobile screen doesn't come to the foreground automatically, switch back to VisionMobile
- Verify the address is correct
- Click the Create Call # button at the top of the screen
- Verify the name and apartment number is correct
- Click the Update CAD button at the bottom of the screen
Your call will be created and the person will be entered as a subject in the call. For Civil Process and Warrants the cause number will also be entered in the narrative.
Criminal History/Warrant Lookup
- Go to the RMS page
- Click on the First Name field under either Warrants or Criminal History
- Click Search
WTH Map
- You can click in the search bar at the top of the WTH map
- Scan the barcode on the purple sheet for a civil process paper or at the bottom of the Residence Verification Form
VisionRMS
- Go to the Civil Process Screen
- Scan the barcode from the Civil Process Log
- Pick the correct entry and click Name
- Select the correct name and click Status
- Scan the barcode again
- Verify the data is correct and save the entry.
Aries/E-Ticket will not scan data while the dlsvm window is open, so if you want to scan data in to those programs close the dlsvm window using the X in the upper right hand corner.
